Swine Flu and Nutrition | SillySoul.com

Something wrong with the Swine Flu Situation

I’m a halfway decent health nut. You couldn’t tell by looking at me. But, before I go on, let it be known that I’m not a health professional in any way. Yet, I have a bone to pick with this whole Swine Flu emergency.

What about preventive nutrition? I know the medical industry and the government have advised us to wash our hands, keep away from people, and go to the hospital with any suspected symptoms. This is what I see blasted over mainstream news everyday. This is all great stuff. But, what about vitamins? Fruits? Vegetables? Maybe it’s not the cure. Maybe it is. However, I’m for anything that can strengthen the immune system. It is our first line of defense. It would give any individual a fighting chance if he or she were to get sick. We would be several steps ahead of the virus.

Alas, I know there are regulations the FDA has that prevents this knowledge from being spread in big media. Maybe for the monetary benefit of the pharmaceutical industry?? We all know that all types of alternative medical systems and medicines are under attack. Basic nutrition being one of them.

What ever happened to “An apple a day keeps the doctor away?”

Could we be going in the wrong direction as a nation? Maybe as a whole global community?

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Stay Healthy.
