Bernanke’s Argument

I was inspired by Ron Paul’s latest Myspace blog post which you can find here: blogs.myspace.com/ronpaul.

I had to leave a comment. Here’s what I wrote:

Bernanke’s argument against HR 1207 makes no sense. Yes, I understand congress isn’t the smartest bunch on the planet. It’s funny that he uses that argument, “Oh, nobody wants to see Congress handle monetary policy.” – Wink Wink. However, the sole duty of Congress is to represent the American people. And, It’s only right that the American people can audit a decision of the Federal Reserve. If Bernanke himself can’t give Congress the benefit of the doubt, why should I give it to the Fed? Makes no sense to let them have total power over monetary policy. Look at how monetary policy affects us! High unemployment. Banks don’t want to lend. Bailout after bailout. Our nations dollar and credit are ruined.

Bernanke and Corporate CEO’s are wining and dining each other. (And, in no way am I saying that Congress is innocent.) But, for the rest of us, it’s no walk in the park. For most Americans right now, our budgets consist of counting pennies at the kitchen table. Some are forced to decide between food and gas. How is that Fair?! How is that American?!

Audit the Fed!!

PEACE and ABUNDANCE!
