Spirituality

If you strengthen your spirit, your life will become better. Your soul is the foundation of your being. On top of that, we have knowledge, relationships, habits, etc., etc. Some make life better. Some make life not so good. Even though I bring up what we would call “Religious Figures,” my favorites being Jesus and Buddha, I, in no way, am trying to force any religion down someone’s throat. I believe that spirituality has to be integrated in life, business, and everything else to make your whole life complete. To me, this is the center piece of my blog. I hope this section can help do my readers good. As always, thank you for stopping by and reading…

Worry is a Form of Meditation

Worry In recent years, I’ve caught myself worrying. Having bad thoughts about things that will probably never happen. But, there I am looping my imagination over and over again. Even to the point where it affects my body and how I think.

Have you ever had worry affect your confidence? Have you ever had a panic attack?

I’ve been down that road. Sometimes we develop habits we are not conscious of. Worrying is one of these. We become immersed in our own world of “What If’s.” The sad thing is that we end up thinking, “Oh, this is who I am. I can’t change this.” In addition to that, people think that worrying is a part of adulthood. Like it’s some badge to be proud of.

Yes, there are things we cannot control. There are situations that pop up out of nowhere. However, we don’t have to make mountains out of ant mounds. That’s exactly what worrying does. Also, it doesn’t just affect us as individuals. It affects the people around us. This includes the most precious people in our lives – family. So much so, people will start to keep their distance.

First, we have to break this down. What is worrying? It’s a negative use of our imagination. Just as fantasizing is a positive use of our imagination. We always run into people that aren’t doing anything but daydreaming. Yet, we run into people that worry and don’t do anything. From a health perspective, I bet the daydreamers are better off. They’re usually the ones that are relaxed. (I’m not saying complacency is good, either. But, that’s a whole other matter.) While the ones that worry are biting people’s heads off. Internal stress is not good for the body or the spirit.

So how do we lessen the worry in our minds and lives?

  • -Take the time to consciously think more positive (Meditate on the good stuff)
  • -Practice meditation or chi gung (I’m no doctor. See a real doctor before you start any program)
  • -When you catch yourself worrying, distract the mind (Turn on the tv or play a game)
  • -Study how people succeed (No more learning how the world is going to end)
  • -With all the Bad News on TV, watch or read something funny (Sitcoms and comics are good)
  • -Converse with friends about the good things in life (No more negative talk)

It’s useless to fight worry. This will only lead to more worry. I know this from experience. The strategy that we are using here is that Bad Habits will be smothered by Good Habits. Of course, we can simply stop worrying. But, that is too risky. We will basically balance ourselves with no support. However, if we switch from a bad habit to a good habit, we have something to play with.

With all this said, does worry have any value? Yes, it does. This may shock some, but let me explain real quick. Worry is a form of trying to predict the future. If we think of doing something, the first thing we think of are the consequences. It’s a part of strategy. “If I do this, this will happen.” It’s totally natural. It’s the dwelling, immersion, and involving emotions that is bad.

Don’t ever let your imagination become your master. Take back the reins with strength and happiness.

As they say, “Don’t worry, be Happy.”

PEACE and ABUNDANCE!!
